Scheduling:
Nearly all evaluations are scheduled to begin at 9:30 am on the day of testing.
I prefer to complete testing in one session if possible. This
reduces scheduling problems, though it generally means that testing
sessions are long and tiring. For children, this is often overwhelming and so testing is often broken into two-hour blocks. We will discuss the time expected for each individual case when you schedule. Feel free to bring a drink and snack.
Except for school risk assessments, appointments are not usually
available immediately. Wait lists lasting 1-3 months are unfortunately
common due to heavy demand. Please call early to reserve time.
Billing:
The cost is based on time taken to complete interviews, testing, and report writing.
We will estimate the time required to answer the questions or issues
you raise and base your estimated cost on this. You will be asked to
pay that estimated bill at the time of testing (or your portion if insurance can be billed). Over payments will be reimbursed upon completion. If more
time is required, this will be discussed with you before further
testing is initiated.
Most Insurance Companies Accepted: Insurance companies generally pay only a portion of most evaluation
costs. Educational testing (e.g., for school placement) and that done
for use by a court are not billable to insurance except in special
circumstances. If insurance will cover testing, there is usually a
lengthy preauthorization process we will need to go through. So call
and discuss payment early on.
